The Drivers Talk Team

Micah MuzioMicah Muzio was exposed to the world of media at an early age. His father worked in TV and radio as a meteorologist, when Muzio was a youngster. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree for the younger Muzio. “My first on-air radio experience was filling in for my dad doing weather on the morning news when I was 16. It was intimidating, but it set the groundwork for my career path.”

After graduating, Muzio took a few years to work on his musical ambitions. During that time he recorded/produced two CDs, played shows throughout California and Mexico, and opened for national recording acts.

Eventually, Muzio looked for a way to turn his ability to work with sound into gainful employment. At that point he was hired as a board-operator at the same station he made his debut four years earlier. “To be honest, I’d sworn off radio after my experience filling in at age 16.” As he puts it, “I guess I was destined for a career in radio!”

In the five years Muzio spent working for KERN radio in Bakersfield, California, he worked his way up from an entry-level position to Assistant Program Director. He honed his skills handling the behind-the-scenes aspect of running a radio station. By the time Drivers Talk needed a full-time engineer Muzio had fully developed his audio editing ability, along with an understanding of the radio business not common in a man of his age.

As the co-producer, engineer and on-air contributor for Drivers Talk, he brings a fresh, young perspective to the show. In addition to engineering Drivers Talk Radio, Muzio works as the Video Road Test Editor for KBB.com, the most visited automotive website in the world.

A long-time car and motorcycle enthusiast, Muzio recently turned his sights skyward earning his pilot's license to fly helicopters. Muzio is excited to be a part of the Drivers Talk team. "I'm able to combine my love of radio with my love of cars. When people as me what my job is I'm not sure how to respond. Is this really work?"
